usbwifi.net: Boosting Bandwidth

Boosting Bandwidth

On the internet, Boosting Bandwidth is an ever growing necessity when internet apps are sucking the limits out of our connections. Another reason you may have for needing to increase bandwidth is when you have to make large downloads or host a website that gets a million hits a day...

I am proposing a new way to get increased bandwidth by splitting your ethernet between multiple WAPs (Wireless Access Points) Using wifi in the same manor that Bit Torrent increases bandwidth by splitting downloads from mulitiple servers. You should be able to increase your wifi bandwifth by routing the Access Points through a device called an iMux.

Ethernet ports can be 1 GB and more. Why get stuck using an WAP with a 54 MB Ether connection when you could combine 18 WAPs and get a full GB of bandwidth.

Super G combines 2 paths on the EtherNet side, so with these, you will only need 9 units. As long as you still get a 900 user access path.
WiMAX - broadband connections
WiMAX is a standards-based wireless technology that provides high-throughput broadband connections over long distances. WiMAX can be used for a number of applications, including 'last mile' broadband connections, hotspots and cellular backhaul, and high-speed enterprise connectivity for business.
